Galena is one of the most fascinating cities in the old Northwest Territory. Nine generals from Galena served during the Civil War, the most important being Ulysses S. Grant. Also, 85% of the buildings in Galena are apart of the National Register of Historic Places, coining the town as "The Town that Time Forgot".
